Tahlee Ministries Board

  • Andrew Cole (Aj) - Chairman

Aj is one of the founding church planters of New Vine Baptist church where he continues to serve. Aj has a long history in ministry right across the Hunter and is often sought after for ministry advice. With a deep commitment to church health, discipleship and church planting, TMI is very pleased to have Aj taking up a casual vacancy. Aj and his wife Fiona have a long history with Tahlee, with his church receiving interns from when Tahlee was still a Bible college.

  • Mike Thorpe - Treasurer

Hi, my name is Mike Thorpe, and I’ve been a member of TMI for around 6 years. I am married with 3 married children and 11 adorable grandchildren.

My most significant involvement in Tahlee was in 2010/2011 as Chairman of TMI.

My strong passion and commitment towards Tahlee has also been demonstrated by buying and moving to North Arm Cove in 2015, to be nearby Tahlee. I believe that the Lord has given a strong vision for a thriving and vibrant Tahlee in the future.

  • Lysander Lawrence - Secretary

Many years ago I was a student at Tahlee Bible College graduating with an Advanced Diploma of Theology. For the last 15 years, I have been working full-time in Christian ministry primarily as a high school scripture teacher. I love Jesus, I love His Church and I love Tahlee. As a board member, my greatest desire is to see Tahlee thrive as a significant place of ministry for both the Hunter and indeed the world.

  • Wes Wilson

Wes is a great-nephew of the founding leaders of the Gospel Fishermen Mission, Godfrey and Winifred Theobald. Wes has had an association with Tahlee since the 1980s, when his father Keith Wilson began an active role with that organisation. Wes has a keen interest in seeing Tahlee used for Christian ministry well into the future.

  • Ken Wellham

Ken Wellhem studied at numerous Bible Schools and Colleges and functioned in Youth, Assistant, Associate and Senior pastoral roles in NSW and WA.

In addition to the more than four decades of pastoral ministry, Ken has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Over and above his own business enterprises, he has held directorships in a private finance company and two public companies [tourism, development, and investment].

Ken has a deep desire to see the Lord’s plans and ministry fulfilled at Tahlee.

  • Mark Ramsland

Mark Ramsland is active in the not-for-profit sector and is currently the Director and Chair of Connect Global Ltd, a full-time residential rehabilitation facility for men located in the Port Stephens area. Mark has a deep connection with Tahlee and its history. Mark Ramsland is also an experienced solicitor and court advocate for those who are struggling.

  • Grant Morrison (Casual Vacancy)

Grant has a long and extensive history with Tahlee having previously served as the TMI Chairperson. A real blessing to have Grant serving once again given his love of Tahlee and deep knowledge base.
